my linguistics textbook just pointed out that unlockable could either mean “able to be unlocked” or “not able to be locked.”
- don’t ever feel bad for asking me to tag a trigger
- i do not care what the trigger is
- i will tag it for you
- you have legitimate reasons to be triggered by it
- and i am not one to question those reasons
- so just send me an ask
- anonymous if you’re scared
- and i will tag it all the time in future
- your wellbeing is worth twenty extra seconds of my time at least

If you admire Sarah Connolly at all, and especially if you are interested in her character and characterizations, you should definitely read her interview on the website Opera Lively. Among many other things, she talks about playing Giulio Cesare like the Godfather; playing Dido collaboratively with an actress, the two of them controlling a two-foot high puppet, something I didn’t know she had done; playing Fricka as a “tactile, loving woman”; playing Irene (in Handel’s Theodora)as a “healing character”; and playing tennis and table tennis with her good reflexes. She also expands on the story, mentioned briefly in her autobiography, of how she came to choose a career in classical singing over jazz. Near the end of the interview, she talks about encouraging her daughter to explore her creative interests and stand up against prejudice.
I’ve barely even touched on the highlights—really, go read the interview.
A really excellent interview. Really really go and read it.
the fact that there are animals who can see colors that i cant which means that there are colors that exist that it is literally impossible for me to envision is such fucking bullshit that i wanna rip open a couch and eat it
Humans have 3 types of rods for processing color (red green and blue). Mantis Shrimp have 16.
